Design Technology - Wheels and Axles

In DT, we became designers and builders as we created our own vehicles with a special purpose. We started by designing fire engines, buses, police cars, ambulances or lorries, thinking carefully about what each vehicle needed to do. Once our designs were ready, we brought them to life by painting our vehicles and adding details using paper and other materials. For the wheels and axles, we used kebab skewers and recycled plastic lids, helping us learn about reusing materials in a practical way. We worked hard to follow our designs, solve problems and support each other. We are very proud of our finished vehicles!

Royal Ballet Workshop

We were very lucky to take part in an exciting Royal Ballet workshop, all the way from our classroom via Zoom! The workshop was based on Alice in Wonderland and gave us a fantastic chance to step into the magical world of dance. The children followed along with the dancers on screen, learning new moves inspired by the characters and story, and they were also encouraged to create their own movements. There was lots of imagination on display as everyone explored how to move like Alice, the White Rabbit and other familiar characters. The children worked both independently and in pairs, helping each other, sharing ideas and building confidence as they danced. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, focus and teamwork, and everyone had great fun getting active while learning something new. What a brilliant experience!

European Sports Day

On 26th September, we celebrated European Sports Day with lots of fun and active challenges. Throughout the day, we took part in a variety of sporting activities—and clocked up over 120 minutes of exercise!

We were all so tired by the end of the day, but we had so much fun. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the games. What a fantastic day!

English - Beegu

In our first English unit, we read Beegu by Alexis Deacon. In the story, Beegu crashes her spaceship on a strange planet—Earth!

We loved following her adventure and acted out the key events to help us remember the story. Then, we used our imaginations to write diary entries as if we were Beegu. It was so much fun!

Geography - Maps, Atlases and Globes

In one of our first geography lessons, we had lots of fun getting hands-on with globes, atlases, and maps. We started by locating the UK on a globe, then dived into our atlases to discover more about it. Using detailed maps, we zoomed in to find Manchester and learn about its place in the country.

Here are some photos from our lesson — we love exploring the world around us!
