Over the course of Year 6, our pupils take part in The Faith in Action Award which encourages young people through recognising, rewarding and celebrating their active faith lived out through service and reflection. The Award helps them connect their life and faith in a tangible manner. We willl spend the year working towards our Pin Level.
In journeying through the Award, young people should experience a deepening of their relationship with God and find themselves exploring that relationship. It is hoped that through their relationship and action, others will see God's love through them.
The Faith in Action Award builds on what our pupils already experience at St. Peter's through serving others, asking them to reflect upon it so that they may find new ways of living out and exploring their faith. There is an opportunity for both guided reflections, through group reflection points and personal reflection, through journaling. At the end of the scheme, we will submit a final scrapbook before being awarded their Faith in Action Award.r
Final Faith in Action Reflection
19.5.25
Our final step in our Faith in Action journey was a reflection with a member of the Shrewsbury Mission Team. Ashley led a wonderful session where we explored the Jubilee Year with our Pilgramage Passport.
We visited different important sites across the globe and learnt about the different pilgrimages people make during Jubilee celebrations.
🐟 The Parables of Jesus Display 🐟
2.5.25
During our R.E. lessons and in assembly, we have read and heard many of the parables Jesus used to teach important lessons. We found the different parables in the bible and copied them out to create a display. Then, we explained the meaning of each parable. Finally, we illustrated them to help people understand them. Why not read some of them to see what we have been learning about?
✝ Stations of the Cross ✝
10.4.25
Today we led an assembly reflecting on the Stations of the Cross for our parents and the rest of the school. We retold and acted out each station. We then sung hymns and reflected on how Jesus felt during his final hours.
🙏Parent Lenten Liturgy 🙏
25.3.25
Today we invited our parents to join us as we reflected on our Lenten Journey this year. We listened to 'God's Quiet Things' and reflected on a reading from Matthew 20:24-28.
This story is about a time when two of Jesus’ disciples asked for a special place next to Him in His kingdom. When the other ten disciples found out, they were upset. So, Jesus gathered them all together and explained something important. He told them that in the world, leaders often act like bosses and try to be in control. But He said it should be different for His followers. If someone wants to be great, they should serve others. If someone wants to be first, they should be like a servant to everyone else. Jesus reminded them that even He, the Son of Man, came not to be served, but to serve others and give His life for them.
The message we can learn from this story is that being truly great means being kind and helpful to others. Jesus wants us to think about others before ourselves, just like He did. When we serve and care for others, we are showing real love and living the way Jesus taught us to.
We drew all the ways we can help others on images of open hands.

18.12.24
Today we heard a reading from John (9:1-12).
This story is about a man who had been blind since he was born. One day, Jesus saw him and did something special. He made a paste with dirt and put it on the man’s eyes. Then, Jesus told the man to go wash in a nearby pool. When the man did this, he could see for the very first time in his life! He was so happy and excited, he ran to tell everyone what had happened.
The message we can learn from this story is that Jesus can help us in amazing ways, even when things seem impossible. Just like the man received his sight through faith and obedience, we can trust that Jesus cares for us and wants to help us too!
We created postcards to reflect on what we had heard today

11.12.24
Today we heard two gospel acclamations.
Gospel Acclamation 1
Jesus said ‘I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will have the light of life’.
Gospel Acclamation 2
Your words hold the message of eternal life
Today, Jesus reminds us that He is the light of the world, and when we feel tired or sad, we can go to Him for help, strength, and love. He also calls us to be lights to others, sharing His love and bringing joy to their lives.
We thought about times when we had felt a bit down or sad and who cheered us up and made us feel better. We said a quiet prayer in our own words to ask Jesus to always send someone when we need help.

4.12.24
Today we heard a reading from the Gospel according to Luke (6:36-38)
Jesus said to his friends ;be kind to each other , just as your father in heaven is safe, kind to you.Do not judge other people and you will not be judged . Do not condemn them and you will not be condemned. Forgive them and you will be forgiven. Give and you will receive many gifts because the amount you give out is the amount you get back.
This week Jesus asked us to look at how we treat other people. We thought about if we treat them the way we want them to treat us or are we sometimes careless of their feelings? This morning we reflected on how we should
think of each other .
🕯 Parent Advent Prayer and Liturgy 🕯
3.12.24
Today we led a Prayer and Liturgy session to celebrate the start of Advent. We invited our parents to join us to listen to the Word and reflect on its meaning for us. We thought about our Advent focus word 'Hope' and designed jars full of our hopes and wishes for the future.
Click here to listen to the song we song as we lit the first candle on our Advent Wreath.

27.11.24
This morning we listened to a a gospel acclamation.
Glory and praise to you, O Christ.
God says, ‘Come back to me with all your heart, for I am all tenderness and compassion'.
Today we heard God wants us to be with him. Sometimes we walk away from God by choosing things that are not right but God loves us so much that he longs for us to come back. God is not just a bit happy when we come home to him but immensely happy. He makes it easy for us because all we have to do if we have walked away is to come back and say that we are sorry. We thought of someone who loves us very much and imagined that person at the window waiting for us to come home after we have been away for a little while and reflected on how this is what God is like. Finally we thought about a time when we were unhappy or did something that was not right and told God about it, then asked for forgiveness.

20.11.24
This afternoon we listened and reflected on a Psalm.
Happy is a person who follows God .
This person is like a tree planted beside following waters, that gives fruit at the right time
Happy is the person who follows the law of God.
This person is like a tree whose leaves do not wither and everything that he does well.
Happy is the person who follows the law of God.

13.11.24
This morning we listened to a reading from the Gospel of John (15:5).
Jesus said “ I am the vine and you are the branches. Everybody who stays with me will bear lots of fruit.
Today, Jesus tells us that if we stay close to him, we can always do good things. When we listen to his teachings and try to live as he asks, we make a positive impact on those around us. We thought about a time when you made someone happy by saying or doing something kind for them.

6.11.24
Today we listened to a reading from the Philippians (2: 12-18)
My dear friends , do all you have to do without complaining or arguing and then you will be innocent and genuine, perfect children of God. You will shine in the world like bright stars because you are offering it the world of life.
This is the Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
.
We thought about how to be a bright star is a beautiful picture because that is what St Paul
is telling us we are when we try to do the right thing. We make other people's lives better by setting a good example.
We thought of a time when we felt really happy and reflected on how when we are this happy, we spread God's light because we make other people happy. We all came up with a way we are going to spread God’s light this week.
🙏Feast of All Saints Mass 🙏
4.11.24
Today we led our school in celebrating the Feast of All Saints.
We sung some of our favourite hymns and songs, including When the Saints (Go Marching In). In the Gospel , Jesus teaches us an important lesson about kindness and being generous to others. He tells a story to explain that when we invite people to share a meal or do something nice for them, we shouldn't only think about inviting our friends or people who can pay us back. Instead, Jesus says we should invite those who may not have much—people who are poor, lonely, or in need—because they can’t repay us. When we do this, God will reward us in heaven.

🙏International Welcome Mass 🙏
30.9.24
🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸🇫🇲🏴🇸🇨🇩🇰🇦🇪🇲🇲🇨🇳🇨🇮🇺🇦🇳🇬🇲🇦🇵🇳🇲🇪🇻🇪
Today we led our whole school International Welcome Mass for the other classes and parents. We planned the hymns we wanted to sing to celebrate how multicultural and diverse our school community is. As part of our Opening Prayer, we welcomed everyone in some of the different languages spoken by members of our class. Each of the Universal Prayers were read by a member of our class in another language they speak. Children were also invited to wear a traditional outfit from a country from their heritage. Thank you Fr Owen for leading this wonderful mass.
