In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made by completing the in-year admissions application form on the Manchester City Council website and completing a school enquiry form which can be obtained from the school office or by sending an email to admin@st-peters.manchester.sch.uk 

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.  If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the policies page for our full admission policy. 

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.  

You have the right to appeal if your application is unsuccessful*.

* If an application for admission has been turned down by the school, parents can appeal to the Governing Body. Parents must submit their reason for appealing in writing to the Clerk to the Governors at the school within fourteen days (ten working days) of notification of refusal. Any appeals will be responded to within five working days. If the school’s decision is upheld, parents can appeal to an independent Appeals Panel. The decision of the independent appeals panel is binding upon the Governors.  Parents must be allowed at least twenty school days from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful to submit that appeal.
