Curriculum PE

Children in Year 2 have been thinking about different ways of travelling in gymnastics.  They have been travelling on the floor and across apparatus.

Children in Year 6 have been thinking about the gymnastic skills of flexibility and balance, learning to move in a controlled way across apparatus.

Intra School Competition

Each year we take part in European School Sports Day, challenging ourselves to do 120 minutes of exercise during the day and run, walk or jog the number of metres for the year.  This year the children tried to run 2021 metres, took part in class competions and learned how to do archery.

Inter School Competition

Children in Years 5 and 6 enjoyed taking part in the Wythenshawe Catholic Schools partnership netball tournament.

Children in KS2 enjoyed taking part in the Commonwealth Games legacy athletics challenge.  All the children were challenged to beat their own best performance.

Children in Years 3 and 4 took part in a partnership dodgeball competition at St Paul’s. They won 3 games and came 3rd in the competition.

Children in Year 2 enjoyed taking part in a football competion at Manchester City.  They even had time to relax between their games!
